Our Giesen roaster arrives! Our Giesen roaster arrives!

Our Giesen roaster arrives!

So, we'd reached capacity with our previous 6kg batch size roaster and were at the point of telling new wholesale customers that they’d have to go on a ‘waiting list’ for us to be able to supply them. Time to upgrade!

Thankfully, with our new 15kg batch-size Giesen roaster, we can now fulfill all our current requests and grow our coffee supply well into the future.

We've had the Giesen up-and-running for over a week now and are blown away by the improvement in roast quality - both in the information we’re able to gleam from the roasts and the quality of the beans it’s producing.

And it's not just beautiful to look at (its colour is reminiscent of the classic Porsche Miami 'baby' blue), it's more eco-friendly than the one it replaces too. It puts a happy smile on all our faces every time we arrive at work!

Our Giesen Naming Competition

In June and July, we ran a competition to find a name for our new Giesen roaster. By far the most popular name suggested was Roasty McRoastface...

However, the winning entry we chose from the 300+ that were submitted was Gigi - pronounced 'Jeejee'. Welcome to the team Gigi!

Many thanks to everyone who took part in our competition.

Natalie from Essex was the first person to suggest 'Gigi'. A 500g bag of Explorer Blend and 500g of our Adventurer Blend are winging their way to her!

As there were 3 of entries in total with that name, we've sent a 250g bag of coffee to the other two entries too!

Grab a brew and read on...
